Confidentiality
LifeQuest Christian Counseling Services, Inc., is bound by professional ethics, as a matter of privileged communication between us and the persons with whom we provide counsel, to safeguard any and all information obtained by us in a care-giving relationship.
A counselee’s confidential information, obtained during the pastoral counseling relationship at LifeQuest, may be shared with another professional by the pastoral counselor at LifeQuest only, with a counselee’s written consent.
All counselors at LifeQuest Christian Counseling Services, Inc., will carefully protect the privacy and identity of their counselees and their situations. All records of persons receiving pastoral care are stored, handled, or disposed of in a way that assures security and confidentiality of those counselees and their situations.
LifeQuest’s standards of counselee confidentiality are not designed to be used to avoid appropriate intervention by proper authorities when necessary, such as, when there is evidence of child abuse or abuse of minors, the elderly, the disabled, the physically and mentally incompetent or intent to inflict self-harm including suicidal or homicidal ideation.
